Tombs - Tombs (2007)

Formed in January 2007, Tombs is a collaboration between Mike Hill, bassist Dominic Seita (ex-Speedloader) and drummer Justin Ennis (ex-The Heuristic). It is the culmination of Hill’s lifetime of work, a crushing, soulful sound, inspired by some diverse, almighty influences: the harsh minimalism of Black Flag, the psychedelic overdrive of Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine, the emotional ice of Godflesh, the sinister rock of Unsane and The Jesus Lizard. The EP has striking cover art courtesy of Coliseum frontman Ryan Patterson (Slayer, Kylesa, Anodyne).

okai, we continue with the remixes, this time with the ting tings. the third single from we started nothing is out and is called shut up and let me go. and here it is for you guys, but as usual singles come along with smashing remixes, and shut up and let me go is no exception. featuring three remixes (haji and emanuel, chriss lake and tocadisco) and two radio edits plus the original track (not in the official release, but i decided tu put it in the pack). the strong card on this release is the electro remix by tocadisco, also you can find around the net other remixes such as the tom neiville one.

Klaxons - Myths of the Near Future (2007)

klaxons are a psychedelic-pop band from england well known around europe. deeply influenced by 80's to 90's electronic music scene and by magical psychedelic stories, their music is quite near to the early nu-rave sound with spicy rockish guitars.

Oasis - The Shock of The Lightning [EP] (2008)

the shock of the lightning is the first single from oasis's long awaited dig out your soul the band's seventh album. okai, but what makes this single special (and mostly what makes me upload it here) is the shocking remix for the track falling down (also featured on dig out your soul) by no one else but the chemical brothers, this remix was announced like a month ago by oasis themselves, so enjoy this release that you don't see this quite often.

Radaid - Radaid (2002)

Radaid is a well known band in the guadalajara's "art-music" movement, they've been in the scene since 1998, with regular presentations all around guadalajara's music bars like haus der Kunst or puerta 22, they've been in china, france, the usa, and all over mexico... their style is simple, culture fusion, from chinese arp arrangements to little to non known musical instruments such as the tar. in 2004 radaid became the first non-classical music group to play in the "Teatro Degollado" from guadalajara, they even got a DVD from that presentation. enjoy the first release from "los hijos del sol"...

The Dark Romantics - Heartbraker

the dark romantics are an obscure indie band, their upcoming third album comes with some surprises, most of them depressive, anyways this record goes directly to my top 20 of the year, with a lead singer that's been compared to Thom Yorke that's the least you can expect, and for those who know the band it is not possible to wait until it hits the streets (september 9th) so here it is for you guys....

Constructorr - I'm a super robot [EP] (2008)

this moscow based russian trio gives a fresh touch to the 8-bit scenario, poppy melodies and happy synths are the constant from this independent band's music. they have been touring all around russia the whole year and nobody's gonna stop them for a while, definately you should give this a try.

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Ire Works (2007)

similar artists: Converge, Botch, Meshuggah

People know what to expect with The Dillinger Escape Plan. Oh sure the New Jersey mentalists made most other metal look slack-jawed and stupid with their first releases but the band have been kicking out their fucked-up hyper-intense tech-jams for so long now that they’ve become a by-word for musical intensity. This far into their career, The Dillinger Escape Plan really shouldn’t have the ability to shock, surprise and stun anymore. ‘Ire Works’ however, isn’t just a fire-breathing monster of a record but a maniacal, multi-pronged onslaught that’s going to leave the world of heavy music amazed all over again.

The Faint - Fasciination (2008)

the robotic feeling from past the faint albums is still printed on this new album, but in fact it's a little bit slower. awaited and anticipated, this is the first in four years and the first in their brand new record label. retro sounds that go well with their t-shirts when they play live.

recommended track: mirror error

Дельфин - Звезда (2004)

similar artists: i seriously can't think of any.

dolphin (aka Дельфин, Del'fin) was once part of Мальчишник, a successful russian hip-hop trio. after leaving the group in 1996, he started his solo career experimenting with electronics and clean vocals leaving the rapping behind, and with his 2004 album zvezda (Звезда, star) he defines his new style and delivers a beautiful album with a nostalgic sound to it.

note: tagged as del'fin with song titles written in roman alphabet characters for better understanding. still, scrobbles as Дельфин, which takes you to the correct artist page.

Van She - V (2008)

one of the greatest works from iceland's proud. This ep was sold during the 2001 sigur rós europe tour, and it was limited to 1000 copies, so maybe this is your best chance to get your hands (and ears) on this musical Nirvana.

The Tallest Man On Earth - Shallow Graves (2008)

Sounds like: Adem, Deer Tick, A Weather

Matsson released a self-titled five-song EP in 2007; Shallow Graves is his full-length debut. The production is appropriately scrappy, and it seems relatively safe to assume that the album was recorded live with one microphone-- accordingly, we hear the scratch of fingernails on string (and, on occasion, the chirping of birds in the background), made privy to each tiny exhalation and sigh. Matsson is an adept fingerpicker, and his guitar is easily as central as his voice, which is high, crackling, and rich.

Maeror Tri - The Beauty of Sadness (1996)

Similar Artists: raison d'être, Lustmord, Coil

This is an essential album to all fans of ambient. The music in this album is the equivalent to sitting on your back porch at twilight, watching the breeze gently flow through the trees, partially covering up a red sun in a purple-gray sky. Makes the hair on my neck stand up. I highly recommend it.

Cave In - Perfect Pitch Black (2005)

For a band that are only just rising to prominence and are all relatively young (mid-twenties) Cave In have released an awful lot of albums. They started out in the mid- to late-nineties as some sort of death/thrash/black metal band (I don't know the precise name for genre but it is the one where the singer grunts and belches his way through the songs), made an utterly abrupt about-turn to become a Radiohead-esque nu-prog band before currently making their name as a more intelligent pioneer of melodic Foo Fighters type alternative rock.

Botch - We Are The Romans (1999)

The first band that comes to mind when I hear 'metalcore' is the name Botch. Why? Because they are one band that is clearly metalcore. Without Botch, as said on the main Botch page, many bands would not be around, or would not be the same. Botch had a large impact in music from their span of 9 short years. This Tacoma metalcore/mathcore quaret is not a force to be underestimated. Talk about controversial cover art, eh? I believe that they mean We Are The Romans is a comparison of how America is doomed to fall like the Roman empire.

Gospel of the Future - S/T (2007)

GOSPEL OF THE FUTURE - Now here’s a real sludgehammer from the Czech Republic. Their down-tuned, delirious, and furious use of hardcore building blocks and basic doom-ridden telemetry will bludgeon you. The lurching riffs stiffes into a state of cramped constipation. That’s what sludge should evoke. Bravo!

Geskia - Silent 77 (2008)

Geskia is undoubtedly the master of Japanese underground hip-hop and breakbeats. He started off his journey of sound making in 2001, and became a part of the down-beat unit “coma5”. Although Geskia’s music style is heavily influenced by industrial music (especially by Industrial icons like Coil and Einstruzende Neubauten), trip-hop movement and techno music, but by listening to the unique music that he has been creating, one can indubitably tell that Geskia has already established his very own distinctive music style and philosophy, and it has begun to mesmerize many people, including his fellow artists.

A big noise in their native Iceland, We Made God deserve a wider audience for their self-financed self-released debut.
Referencing the otherwordly ambient atmospherics of Sigurós and Deftones’ driving, muscular riffs,
the quartet’s epic widescreen soundscapes and frontman Maggi’s keening vocals are by turns beautiful and harrowing.
An audacious debut.

Hexperos - Garden of the Hesperides

The name Hexperos comes from Hesperides and Hesperos,
which is the name of the first star that appears at twilight.
This is also the favourite star of the goddess of love, Aphrodite.
As a matter of fact, you can see a star in her symbol, the apple, when you cut it in two halves.
The Hesperides are myths that care of a tree with golden apples and they sing with sweet voices.
