Scale the Summit - Carving Desert Canyons (2009)

Gorgeous instrumental prog metal. When I listen to this album, I feel like I'm flying. The songs fucking soar, with little to no wankery to weigh them down. The riffs, while rather complicated at times, are triumphantly melodic and uplifting. This is one of those prog albums that makes you feel bad about your own guitar/bass/drum playing abilities, but you're too busy grinning to notice.

One Response so far.

Pretty sweet technical work that doesn't tend to get old. The instruments they use are pretty ridiculous: 8 and 7 string guitars and 6 string bass.
