this is kanye west's latest mixtape, mixed by dj benzi and plain pat, features a large collection of awesome kanye west remixes (though the only track from kanye's most recent album, 808 and heartbreak, is love lockdown). great if you're a fan of kanye, remixes, mixtapes or if you're looking for awesome party music.
Catchy garage rock from Okmoniks drummer Justin Champlin
Chuck Berry Holiday is one of his more popular songs and fun as hell
He's currently on tour and if youtube vids are right his microphone is a giant carrot and he throws a few petals into the audience before eating a flower
Definiton of a hata : half man half bitch
this is honestly one of the funniest albums I've heard in a while
"Come from de islands" is pure gold
I seriously say you should give it a chance
also there wasn't a cover available and the cds he hands out are sorta blank so this will have to do
boy eats drum machine is the solo work of native portlander, jon ragel. he is a songwriter, producer, singer, turntablist, and also plays saxophone, guitar, synthesizer, organ, and several percussive nick nacks. as a one-man musical act, BEDM merges the worlds of turntablism and live rock performance as ragel spins breaks and surgically inserts sounds while juggling vocals, percussion, and saxophone.

saltillo is the solo project of menton j matthews III, a multi-instrumentalist, playing cello, viola, violin, guitar, drums, piano, and bass, as well as a slew of electronics. he has spent the last few years refining his song-writing abilities by scoring film soundtracks and doing production work at the mixing desk. i wanted to post this album since i first started the blog but forgot, oops. my favorite 2006 album btw, and one of the best of the decade.

k this band is called andromeda vs icarus , they're from mexico city and their music is a mix of post-hardcore and electronic music (though that might sound like a description to enter shikari and horse the band it's nothing like it), think a mash-up between the faint and the fall of troy, it's something like that i guess. this is their first EP and it's pretty cool, i like quite a bit. download it now bitch and check out their myspace clicking here.
TAKEN DOWN BY REQUEST.
It is available elsewhere anyway.
You can listen to the whole album on Myspace if you want to, located here.
auto-auto are two talented young guys from sweden who have set out to do things a little differently. left cold by current trends and removed from all conventional approaches, they are creating their very own vision of electronic pop music that is refreshingly easy-going, highly club-compatible and pretty darn cool.
asobi seksu's third album sounds nothing like it's predecessors, it still has that kind of cute melodic sound but it's safe to say the shoegaze days are gone. despite this album being more indie rock/dream pop it's still good, personally i like their s/t and citrus better but i enjoyed this as well, i'm sure most of you will like it more than i did though.
la última canción del mundo are from argentina, melodious and shouting voices.
they played with nerd kids and recorded an ep and this is their first album.
the girl's voice is pretty sweet, the pair of voices is awesome.

I just bought this on vinyl the other day, and noticed it wasn't posted yet. I bet most of you have heard this album already, but if you haven't yet do it. Ultimate-Guitar named it Album of the Year in their annual This Year in Metal.
...Colors blows anything else considered to be "metal," or any other genre for that matter, out of the water. The technical ability, artistic vision and spot-on execution are absolutely confounding. Listening to it as a whole provides a truly unique experience that shows a band pushing themselves to their creative and musical limits and coming out with a monstrous work of art.PUX PIX
the firebird band is an amazing band from chicago playing cool and mellow electronic indie rock. this is their second full-lenght from 2004, and the title is so spot on i want to hug these guys, i do feel like i'm the city at night when listening to this awesome record. they haven't released any new albums since but they totally should. i highly recommend satellite delay, dangerous and obsessive compulsive.
REMEMBER: to download the full album you need to download BOTH part 1 and 2. i can't believe there's people who still don't get this...

The Italian trio of Jacopo Battaglia (drums), Massimo Pupillo (bass) and Luca T. Mai (saxophone) formed in 1999 after having worked together in local theater. Driven by a punk rock work ethic, Zu have played an astounding number of over 1,000 gigs worldwide including Europe, North America, Asia, Russia, and even Africa. The have released fourteen albums to date. Musically they’re one mind only, ever-so-slightly inconvenienced by the necessity of being spit into 3 bodies. Their post-human tightness and devious compositions have attracted collaborators ranging from free-jazz legends to the godfathers of experimental sludge, and on this album they are joined by Mike Patton and King Buzzo. Very very good err... Music.
i saw this band opening for zoé back in 2004 while touring in support of their debut EP, donde los ponys pastan, i liked them since it had a -kind of- original sound, unlike most mexican bands. then i forgot about them and almost 3 years later i got this album, their debut LP, atemahawke. i like this album, as i said before it's better than most mexican bands (or at least better than what's considered indie and alternative (lol mexico)) and most people into stuff like sigur ros, radiohead, and every other "indie" act from the last 6 years would probably like this. get it and leave a comment.

Since the other La Dispute album I posted went over so well (see this), I figured I ought to post their other full length album, Vancouver. This is their debut album from 2006. Though it's not as good as Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair (in my opinion), it is still excellent.
As always, if you enjoy the music you download, you should consider purchasing an album or other merchandise.

Possibly the best release (though it probably ties with a few of their other releases, which I may post later) from one of my favorite bands. You may not get it. This album and band is brilliant. The lyrics are smart and sometimes funny. I love this band and I've worked for them at one point. Let me know what you think.

folkish norwegian black metal. cor scorpii was founded by windir's former keyboardist after the death of valfar and feels like a sequel of sorts. so there, get it if you liked windir and/or folskish black metal.
This bonus disc is all instrumental, and is a nice contrast to the main album. It is worth a listen or more.

This an absolutely brilliant album from one of the best bands coming from my home town of Grand Rapids, MI. This is nearly flawless. If I had decided to make a top albums of 2008 list, this would be ranked pretty high.

AND POST A FUCKIN COMMENT.
an amazing album from an amazing band. not as "heavy" as their 2002's album [A-->B] life and not yet as melodic as it's follow up brother, sister. catch us for the foxes is a great mix of power and melody with post-punk and post-hardcore influences, all from what i guess you can call an indie rock band. also, those spoken-like vocals are awesome.
We have reached crisis point of late. The majority of our esteemed pop stars seem content to trundle along, pushing safe product without a care in the world for unfettered inspiration. So it is with longing arms that we clutch The Monsoon Bassoon close to our heavy bosom. They have come with a malicious intent to bludgeon all musical preconceptions into mush. And they will, ultimately, tug hard on your heartstrings in ways that you won't quite understand.
mc chris is a rapper from illinois, his lyrics talk about nerd culture and geek shit. it's pretty funny when you get his jokes. this is his first album, which includes fett's vette, a song i strongly recommend.
