R.I.P. Bill Doss

Bill Doss, one of the main founders of the Elephant 6 Collective (Neutral Milk Hotel, Olivia Tremor Control and The Apples in Stereo), has died, at the ripe age of 43. He was one of the best musicians of our time, and wrote some of the best pop songs to occupy space. Words cannot describe how terrible a loss this is.

Our condolences go out to the entirety of the Elephant 6 collective, to Athens, Georgia, and to Amy.

R.I.P. Bill. May the sunshine guide you beyond our time.

The Gaylettes - We Shall Sing! Girl Group Rocksteady And Reggae 1963-73 (2002)

Really incredible recordings from the Gaylettes, which featured Judy Mowatt, who later went on to become one of the I Threes for Bob Marley and the Wailers. Must have for those who enjoy reggae, rocksteady, or girl groups.

I'll let this sneak preview speak for itself. Not sure why the thumbnail is three guys - I think it's a shot of the Gaylads - but the sound quality is great, so have a listen.
